We are a small, friendly group of amateur artists who meet on a weekly basis at Acklington Village Hall, Northumberland. Members work in a variety of media, including oils, water-based oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels and pencils, and are always willing to share ideas and techniques.
Whilst working for much of the time on our own pieces, we also have a number of demonstrations and workshops by local artists such as Ruth Bond, Nick Potter and Luke McTaggart. A range of monthly motivational projects are also organised by members of the group.
We have a waiting list at the moment, but do feel free to contact us if you are interested in joining us in the future. See the contact page for details.
Acklington Art Group started in 2006 when funds from a government-funded art course were withdrawn. This informal group proved popular from the start. From the 8 original members, the group has gradually grown, and today there are 24 members.
Every year, we hold an exhibition of our artwork on the last Sunday in September. This is an opportunity for visitors to see and buy our work.
Look under our 'Exhibition' tab for details of our next Exhibition. We look forward to welcoming you.
Acklington Art Group produce a calendar each year, which is for sale at the Exhibition. Some of the artwork on this site is taken from our 2026 calendar, which can be viewed in full in the 'Gallery Page'
For more information on each artist, see examples of each person's artwork in the Gallery.
